How I Became a Pet Sitter

Animals have always been a passion of mine. Since I was young I’ve always loved animals — both learning about and taking care of them. I began AJ Pet Sitting Armidale in 2017 and now have the opportunity to share my love of animals with my clients and pet owners all over the Armidale area. I hope I get the chance to meet your lovely pet soon.

I grew up on a property 10 minutes out of Armidale. I have grown up around all sorts of animals and they have become my passion.

I have dogs, horses and cats of my own, as well as living on a family farm which is/has been a home to goats, sheep, chickens, ducks, birds, python, fish, cattle, turtle, pigs and horses. I can care for and walk dogs, and spend time with and care for cats. I understand the needs of pets, as well as different individual breed requirements.

I have previously studied a year of Animal Science and have now completed a Bachelor's Degree in Agriculutral Production and Management. I have experience working in two different veterinary clinics, and am fully aware and capable to deal with all aspects of animal care including the messier side of caring for our beloved pets. I am comfortable around all different types of animals and breeds, and really love spending time with them. I love all pets like they are my own, my pets are my babies and they are absolutely spoilt.

I own a beagle called Pippi, a large mixed breed dog called Finnegan (rescue),  and two tabbies - Ivy and Dot (both rescue). They are are fully house trained, well behaved around people of all ages but both have their own little quirks and cheeky sides. I also have three horses (Chiffley, Casey and Captain) and some other livestock. As a family we have 4 staffies and another ginger cat, all our dogs are gentle, affectionate, house trained and well behaved. They whine at the door if they want to use the bathroom, know not to jump or lick (especially respectful of little people) and are nice around and have experience with all sorts of other animals.

I am more than happy to feed, water, groom, supervise, walk and entertain your animals for a few hours or days depending on your needs.

Since starting AJ Pet Sitting our customer base has continued to expand and develop, and in the past couple of years our team has grown by two! Jordan and Nathan are both experienced in a wide variety of animal species, and have both grown up on properties.
